Specialty Coffee Roasters and Cebu pioneers
As innovators of the specialty coffee movement in Cebu, Linear Coffee Roasters still does not disappoint. They moved to Big Hotel to get the much-needed space for their roastery and green coffee stocks, but they still serve the highest level of coffee in the Cebu metro area. They supply coffee to many businesses and café – some even on this list!
Other than small cafes, Linear supplies coffee to barbershops, car washes, spas, and showrooms. Look for their clients to expand in Cebu and other parts of Cebu. All Linear clients receive their own espresso blend to differentiate between cafes. No two clients of Linear Coffee have the same espresso blend.

The First cafe in Cebu to promote Specialty Coffee!
Yolk was the first legitimate specialty coffee cafe to open in Cebu, circa 2015. Yolk prides itself on bringing a Singaporean fusion twist to local Cebu breakfast dishes. They wanted to expand the specialty coffee scene by being the first café to source specialty coffee on a consistent basis. Originally, they sourced coffee from Dutch Colony in Singapore, but now they’re one of Linear Coffee Roaster’s biggest clients. They are the pioneer café of specialty coffee in Cebu!

32 Umber has been around for a while and continues to source outside specialty coffee roasters for their V60 pour over and AeroPress choices. Conveniently located near Ayala Center Cebu, 32 Umber has the coffee you need, paired with great tasty sweets. It’s always a stop for many coffee crawling visitors. Inside and outside, everything is Instagrammable: the coffee, the treats and the space itself.

A hidden gem that’s actually hidden and sometimes hard to find.

Formerly named Melt Brothers in the local food market, the Bottega Gallery owners decided to create their own space for work, food and drinks. Only after Linear Coffee Roasters moved out from next door, have they decided to start serving specialty coffee. They realized that with Linear Coffee gone, they had a void to fill with hopeful customers looking to get the same quality coffee. Though they specialize in grilled cheese sandwiches and tortilla pizzas, Bottega has started to sell the famous, best-selling White Brew bottles from Linear Coffee Roasters. They’ve also started to make single origin espresso-based drinks, French press and V60 pour overs – keeping the specialty coffee customers more than satisfied at 18 C. Rosal St.

Fujinoya was originally known for their cakes and, luckily for readers of this list, the owner happens to be a big fan of specialty coffee. Fujinoya has a constant stock of Commonman Coffee Roasters’ beans (from Singapore) for sale, on both filter and espresso roasts, while also in their espresso grinder. A worldwide selection of specialty coffee roasters’ beans is waiting for you. Enjoy a cup of pure deliciousness via V60 pour over and you’ll be a fan of Fujinoya as well.

Treat Street’s small booth has gained a loyal following with just a limited number of tables and chairs surrounding their display. It’s located on the 2nd floor of Ayala Center Cebu, near the Rustan’s entrance. More known for their amazing cakes, Treat Street gains legitimacy in the local coffee game by sourcing beans from Toby’s Estate. Typically, they only offer espresso roast coffee and use high quality fresh whole milk, giving you more reasons to order Flat Whites or Lattes to pair with their addicting cakes.

The little cafe that serves a hostel and co-working space at the same time.
One of the newest spaces to join the coffee community in Cebu is The Daily Grind café, which is part of the Murals Hostel & Co-working Space experience. As another Linear Coffee client, they’re preparing specialty coffee to a crowd that appreciates the quality while not expecting it either. It’s a wonderful surprise for a first-time visitor to choose between espresso, V60 pour overs or the White Brew bottles. A bonus for this place that they serve breakfast all day, coffee all day and drinks at night – from 6 am to midnight you can expect plenty of fun here.

Tucked away in the small, unassuming hallway of the Streetscape arcade in Banilad, Drip and Draft lives up to its name in many ways. They source specialty coffee beans from overseas and locally through a Manila distributor. Boasting a 1.5 kg Proaster machine, they also roast their own coffee and have the standard coffee set up with espresso and pour over options. One may question their dedication to coffee as they also make way to prioritize their craft beer tap options, hence the name “Drip and Draft.”

Strategically situated near Velez Medical College on Ramos St. in the City, TGCC earns through the café, their roastery, and their coffee academy. As one of the few who roast their own coffee and supply other cafes, the potential for their future is exciting. TGCC can be anywhere on this list in a year’s time.
